ICAR-KVK, Nicobar participated in Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra


The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was launched in Car Nicobar on November 28 and 29, 2023, by Ms. Jyoti Kumari, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District. Shri Manjeet Sheoran, IPS Superintendent of Police Nicobar District, Shri Singh Piyush Vijay Karan, Assistant Commissioner (HQ), and ICAR-KVK-CIARI Nicobar, along with other line department officers, attended the campaign. The tribal community held a traditional cultural program to welcome the van. The Sankalp Pledge was taken by the all, including local tribal leaders and villagers. The program included the screening of VBSY and the administration of the Sankalp Pledge to the local tribal leaders and villagers. The yatra's main objective is to reach out to individuals, educate them, and provide benefits from welfare programs. The students of JNV in Car Nicobar presented a cultural program titled 'Dharti Kahe Pukaar Ke'.


A lecture on natural farming was delivered by Dr. Santosh Kumar, Senior Scientist and Head, ICAR-KVK, Nicobar. A leaflet on natural farming was provided in Nicobari language at the KVK stall, and input formulations such as Jeevamrut, Brahmasastra, and Neemsastra were demonstrated. The Assistant Commissioner (HQ) presented garden tool kits and kitchen garden seed kits provided by ICAR-KVK-CIARI, Nicobar to progressive farmers during this initiative. More than 170 farmers received the kits. Four progressive farmers in KVK shared their experiences and accomplishments with regard to the government programs they were able to avail of through 'Meri Kahani Meri Zubani'.
