Regional Station, Minicoy of ICAR-CIARI Port Blair, participated in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra-2023 along with other departments of the administration of Minicoy, Lakshadweep.
On 17th evening the staff of Regional Station, participated in rally which started from Deputy Commissioner office, Minicoy to Kodi beach. On 18th, 10 am to 6 pm the team of Regional Station showcased by putting up a stall in the exhibition exhibiting ICAR-CIARI technologies in agriculture and allied sector to the public. The station also demonstrated and displayed all 12 coconut accessions available in the world coconut germplasm of Minicoy. Vegetables, fruits, fodder, medicinal plant, flowers suitable for intercropping in IFS & various breeds of livestock were explained by the team. About 300 people including students participated in the program, which was inaugurated by Dr. Rahul Rathod, Deputy Collector, Minicoy.
Dr. Gladston Y, & Dr. Ajina S.M., Conveners, Shri Shareefuddeen Hassan & Shri Arif M.I., coordinated the programme under the supervision of Dr.S.K. Zamir Ahmed, Nodal Officer, Lakshadweep & overall guidance of the Chairmanship & Director Dr. Eaknath B. Chakurkar, of ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair.
