Central Island Agricultural Research Institute Employees Welfare Association (CIARIEWA) of ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair organized a farewell function on 05-01-2023 to bid farewell to Dr. A. Velmurugan, Principal Scientist and Head I/c, NRM of this Institute who is proceeding on his appointment as ADG (Soil and Water Management) at ICAR, New Delhi. He had served for more than 13 years in the Institute and immensely contributed for the betterment of the Institute.
Dr. Augustine B. Jerard, Director I/c and Patron, CIARIEWA while delivering his presidential speech, expressed his happiness over the conduct of the farewell programme by the team and placed on record the significant contributions made by Dr. A. Velmurugan. Later, he felicitated him with a memento.
Dr. S.K. Zamir Ahmed, Dr. Jai Sunder, Dr. P.K. Singh, Dr. T.P. Swarnam, Dr. T. Subramani, Dr. I. Jaisankar, Dr. Y. Ramakrishna, Shri. Ravi Babu and Shri. Lakhan Singh also spoke on the occasion. Earlier, Dr. A. Velmurugan shared his experiences. At the outset, Dr. K. Saravanan welcomed the gathering and the programme ended with vote of thanks by Shri. P. Kakesh Rao. Shri. K. Shyam Sundar Rao coordinated the conduct of the farewell function.
