A team of scientists of ICAR-CIARI in collaboration with NABARD organized entrepreneurship development programme on organic input preparation at Calicut village on 16.04.2022 under the guidance of Director, ICAR-CIARI. During the Programme, Dr. A.Velmurugan, Head I/c, NRM Division explained about entrepreneurship opportunities through production of organic inputs. Mr. Yoganathan of Pasumai Sigaram Trust, Trichy has shared his experience in organic farming and demonstrated preparations of panchakavya, jeevamrith and pest repellents to farmers. Dr. T.P. Swarnam, Pr. Scientist explained about entrepreneurship opportunities through exploiting seaweeds by preparation of liquid fertilizer and the use of seaweeds in different crops for enhancing the productivity. Dr. Y. Ramakrishna, Head (KVK) explained about commercial vermicompost production and marketability of organic produces in Andaman. Dr. T. Subramani explained about high value vegetable cultivation under rain shelter for year-round vegetable production while Dr. Sirisha Adamala explained about water harvesting and their efficient utilization. The farmers were provided with tradinational varieties of vegetable seeds, a press release from CIARI said.
