Shri. Sandeep Kumar Mishra Special Secretary, LPWD & Guardian officer, Minicoy along with Dr. Rahul Rathod, Deputy Collector, Minicoy visited ICAR-CIARI Regional Station, Minicoy farm on 31/10/2023. On seeing the development activities carried out in the farm during last 2 years, he expressed his happiness on the technological interventions undertaken in developing Integrated Farming System model, intercropping with fruits and vegetables in coconut plantation, fodder plots, creating customized mini-incubator facilities and conducting hand holding programs for farmers/stakeholders. He was happy with all the components in IFS such as poultry breed- Gramashree & Sasso, quail, duck, goat & cattle’s which will help the farmers to ensure nutritional and economical security.
The visit of the Special Secretary and Deputy Collector Minicoy was coordinated by the scientists of RS Minicoy, Dr Y Gladston & Dr. S M Ajina under the supervision of Dr. S K Zamir Ahmed, PS & Nodal officer and overall guidance of Dr. E B Chakurkar, Director ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair.
