ICAR-CIARI commercializes 'Dweep tickure'- a herbal based formulation for control of ticks in livestock

ICAR-CIARI licensed “Dweep tickure” for natural treatment of ticks in Animal Husbandry in the Islands ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute, Port Blair signed Memorandum of Understanding on March 11, 2022 and licensed Dweep tickure” for natural treatment of ticks in Animal Husbandry in the Islands. Dr. E.B. Chakurkar, Director, ICAR-CIARI transferred the technology to Shri. Vijay Vishwasrao Patil, C/o Natural Agro Products Pvt Ltd., Cofebaghicha, Sippighat, South Andaman.

In line with the upcoming strategies of tick control in livestock with herbal acaricide, the team of ICAR-CIARI scientists; Dr.Jai Sunder, Dr.T.Sujatha, Dr.D.Bhattacharya, Dr.E.B.Chakurkar and Dr.A.K.De have developed oil based herbal topical formulation as acaricides to treat tick infestation in livestock.This herbal oil kills all stages of ticks in cattle and goat with less lethal time, economically affordable to farmers and safe to use in pregnant and lactating animals.
