Central Island Agricultural Research Institute Employees Welfare Association (CIARIEWA) of ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair organized a function on 04th October 2023, to bid farewell to Dr. N. Bommasamy on his appointment as, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK, Ela, Old Goa and also to welcome Dr. V. Damodaran, as Senior Scientist and Head, KVK, Nimbudera, North and Middle Andaman.
Dr. Eaknath B. Chakurkar, Director and Patron, CIARIEWA in his presidential address expressed his happiness on selection of both the CIARIEWA family members as Head of KVKs at North & Middle Andaman and Old Goa. He further said that with the new role the decision making should be balanced and output oriented. As leader you are expected to disseminate the technology to the stakeholders and also provide proper feedback to the research team of the institute. He acknowledged the contribution made in furthering R, D & E activities of the institute. The outgoing and newly joined Senior Scientist and Heads of KVKs were honoured with a shawl and memento by the Patron, CIARIEWA on the occasion.

Dr. S.K. Zamir Ahmed, General Secretary, CIARIEWA introduced the house about the profile, length of service and significant achievement made in the respective field by Dr. V. Damodaran & Dr. N. Bommasamy.
Dr. Jai Sunder, Dr. P.K. Singh, Dr. Y. Ramakrishna, Dr.T. Subramani, spoke on the occasion.
The Chief Guests of the day Dr. V. Damodaran & Dr. N. Bommasamy expressed their happiness on the opportunities extended in shaping their career and shared their experiences.
At the outset, Smt. Naga Venkat Laxmi, CIARIEWA welcomed the gathering and the programme ended with vote of thanks proposed by Shri Tanmai Paul, Executive member, CIARIEWA. Shri Shyam Sunder Rao, Executive member, CIARIEWA coordinated the conduct of the function at Dr.T.R. Dutta Conference hall of Garacharma Research Complex, ICAR_CIARI, Port Blair.
