Central Island Agricultural Research Institute Employees Welfare Association (CIARIEWA) of ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair today organized a farewell function to bid farewell to Shri. Benny Varghese, Senior Technical Officer of this Institute. He has served for more than 32 years in the Institute and retiring on 31 st May, 2023 on attaining the age of superannuation (VRS).
Dr. Eaknath B. Chakurkar, Director and Patron, CIARIEWA while delivering his presidential address, expressed his happiness over the conduct of the farewell programme and acknowledged the contribution made by Shri. Benny Varghese in the field of Fisheries Science.
Dr. D. Bhattacharya, Dr. S.K. Zamir Ahmed, Dr. Jai Sunder, Dr. P.K. Singh, Dr. Y. Ramakrishna and Dr. T.P. Swarnam also spoke on the occasion. Earlier, Shri. Benny Varghese shared his experiences. At the outset, Dr. K. Saravanan, Joint Secretary, CIARIEWA welcomed the gathering. The farewell function was coordinated by Shri. Thanmai Paul, Executive Member of CIARIEWA.
