Central Island Agricultural Research Institute Employees Welfare Association (CIARIEWA) of ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair organized a function on 31st October 2023, to bid farewell to Shri. K. Ali, Skilled Supporting Staff on attaining the age of superannuation, Dr. Bijayakumar Nanda, SMS on his appointment as Senior Scientist Cum Head KVK, South Tripura and welcomed Dr. Santosh Kumar, on his appointment as Senior Scientist Cum Head KVK, Car Nicobar.
Dr. Eaknath B. Chakurkar, Director and Patron, CIARIEWA in his presidential address expressed his happiness on selection of CIARIEWA family member Dr. Bijayakumar Nanda as Head of KVK at South Tripura and welcomed Dr. Santosh Kumar as Head of KVK, Nicobar. He expected that by taking the new role of manager they will be working on right front in technology application and enhance the vision of the institute in their respective areas. Further while placing on record the seminal services of Shri K. Ali, SSS, he suggested to spend quality time with family and be active in his new area of service. The outgoing and newly joined Staff of CIARI & KVK were honoured with a shawl and memento by the Patron, CIARIEWA on the occasion.
Dr.S.K. Zamir Ahmed, General Secretary, CIARIEWA, gave a brief description about the guests on their profile, length of service and significant achievement made in the respective field. Dr. Jai Sunder, Dr. Y. Ramakrishna, Dr.T. Subramani, HoDs also spoke on the occasion.
The Chief Guests of the day Dr. Bijayakumar Nanda, Dr. Santosh Kumar and Shri K. Ali spoke about their experiences and expressed gratitude to the institute for providing the platform in learning and doing many facets of R & D and Extension activities in participatory mode.
At the outset Shri Shyam Sunder Rao, Executive member, CIARIEWA welcomed the gathering and the programme ended with vote of thanks proposed by Shri Prakash Mondal, Executive member, CIARIEWA.
